Scope and eligibility for ICEQC support

Start by describing the education provision your institution wants to submit. A clear scope gives the preparation team a common account of the legal entity, activities and operating arrangements concerned.

Discuss the proposed scope

When to use this route

Use this page if your institution is considering an application, deciding which provision to include or reviewing a scope that may have changed. It is also useful where a brand, school group or international programme involves more than one legal entity.

An initial support discussion helps organise the information. It does not establish formal eligibility or approve the scope on behalf of ICEQC.

Identify both the institution's public name and the legal entity responsible for its education activities. Include the jurisdiction, relevant registration information and an authorised application contact. Explain any difference between the names.

Describe arrangements in which another organisation provides premises, personnel or programme rights. The scope brief records which entity is responsible for the provision and which activities depend on a partner.

Describe the school or programme

Set out what your institution actually delivers, the learners served and the way the education activity is organised. Distinguish the whole school from a particular international programme or another defined part of provision.

A description should be understandable without relying on promotional language. Explain the educational activity and responsibility rather than using a curriculum name as a substitute for an account of the institution.

Clarify sites and delivery arrangements

Identify the locations and delivery modes you want considered. Where activities take place at several sites, explain which arrangements are shared and which are managed separately.

Include material dependencies such as a host school, another programme operator or a digital service used in delivery. A relationship with an organisation does not automatically include all of its activities in the proposed scope.

Information for the first discussion

Prepare a concise scope brief covering:

  • Legal entity and public institution name.
  • Country or territory and relevant operating locations.
  • The education activity, programme or school provision concerned.
  • Intended learner groups and delivery methods.
  • The person coordinating the institution's information.
  • The present application stage or existing official reference.
  • Any planned changes that may affect the description.

Do not send a complete evidence archive with the first enquiry. Establish the intended scope before investing time in collecting material that may concern a different activity.

Match the support arrangement to the case

IESG's work must fall within its applicable authorisation and the agreed support arrangement. The official partner record is the place to check the published coverage. A broad service enquiry should not be interpreted as acceptance of every location or certification object.

Verify partner authorisation

Before formal material handling, we confirm the appropriate route, any outstanding scope questions and the responsibilities for case coordination and authorised transmission.

Formal scope and requirements

ICEQC's official documents govern the certification scope and applicable requirements. Institutions should consult the current sources and read them alongside the specific scope being considered.

Cases needing particular care

School groups, franchise arrangements, shared campuses and international programmes within a larger institution can involve several responsible parties. Existing certification may also relate to a narrower activity than the organisation's current public offer.

Explain the arrangement and supply the relevant authority documents when requested. Do not assume that a parent company, associated brand or partner is covered because another entity has an official record.

Discuss your starting point

Tell us the legal entity, provision and locations you want to discuss. If you already have a scope description, include a short account in your enquiry and identify any point that is uncertain.
